mountains are ever-changing. habits don’t have to be.

Your ski and snowboard adventures are beautifully dynamic. From navigating the trees and stopping on fast groomers, to flowing safely through the terrain park - every zone of the mountain is a place for your child to shine, building life-long resilience and confidence.

With it comes risk. But, instead of worrying about what is outside your control, you focus on building your child’s situational awareness. You know that true ski safety isn’t about hiding from the mountain; it’s about knowing how to read it like a pro.

as you guide them you wonder:

  • am I covering all the bases?

  • do I have realistic expectations?

  • could I make this even more fun?

Coach nelly here…

I know the deep responsibility a Mama feels while guiding her lil’ rippers to slide faster and conquer bigger terrain. Desiring true peace of mind when my three were little, I hatched a plan.

Instead of trying to slow them all down or attempting to keep them all together, I chose to pack their adventures with strong mountain habits that encouraged healthy risk-taking and outsmarted recklessness.

Today, after 23 years as a Ski Instructor, I have successfully raised a happy ski family, in which each member takes personal responsibility, while we confidently own the slopes together. Creating more family memories on the slopes than we can count.

I’m betting you’d like that for your family too!

I believe you are your child’s best mountain mentor—And friend, I care enough to be your guide. Let’s do this!

I always thought ski school would know more or somehow they would be better teachers - but that wasn’t the case. I love being there to see the pieces click and watch my boys make those progressions. It’s been amazing!”

Who are you to coach me anyway?

Thanks for asking!

With a Bachelors's Degree in Psychology—specializing in child development and adventure therapy—I have a deep reverence for the soul-building benefits of introducing children to outdoor risks. I know firsthand how navigating the wilderness builds lifelong resilience and confidence.

Combine that with 23 years as a professional Ski Instructor specializing in play-based coaching, and you get a methodology rooted in pure fun. I believe that safety shouldn’t feel like a chore, and family time on the mountain is a sacred space for building memories.

my youngest and I in 2013—ending the day with tired legs and big smiles

Of course, my biggest credentials come from being a Shred Mama myself. Raising my own three lil’ rippers, out on the ski-hill, every season of their childhood. It’s been both a beautiful and humbling, hands-on learning experience.

I’m a DIY mom—who believes we’ve all got what it takes to lead our lil’s. But, it sure is nice to have a trusted guide! You feel me?

When our kids were learning how to ski, you gave me confidence and information so we could do it. I’m grateful we had that opportunity to learn together, instead of leaving them in ski school at the mountain. Now, we are the golden years skiing with our rippers and it is heaven.
